Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry on January 29, 2026, selected the Executive Directors of the Red River Valley Association and the Ouachita River Valley Association to serve on the CURRENT Authority Board.
Through Act 418 of the 2025 Regular Session, the Louisiana Legislature created the Coordinated Use of Resources for Recreation, Economy, Navigation, and Transportation Authority Board. The CURRENT Authority was established as a single coordinating entity responsible for the prioritization, planning, and funding of projects related to flood control, risk reduction, and navigation in the non-coastal areas of the state.
