Greetings:
I take this opportunity to invite you to the Ouachita River Valley Association’s 58th Annual Convention, which will be held August 14-15, 2025 in beautiful Hot Springs, Arkansas. The activities begin with registration at noon Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hot Springs, followed by a good, Southern-fried catfish and shrimp dinner at the Arc Isle Recreation and Event Center.
We plan to continue our success with panel discussions again this year. In addition to several notable speakers and leaders who will present and discuss their perspectives concerning the Ouachita-Black Rivers Navigation Project, we’ve built in several panel discussions with key leaders in their field of expertise. Our list of panelists and speakers includes government, industry, and professional leaders. We believe the slate of topics we’ve chosen will be both interesting and informative.
The convention is hosted by the City of Hot Springs and supported by numerous sponsors. Our convention will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, located at 4813 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas. We were able to negotiate special room rates for our attendees. In close proximity to the DoubleTree, just a short boat ride away in fact, we will have a great social and informal dinner.
This year’s convention also provides an excellent opportunity to meet the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers leadership for the Project, meet with other industry and professional leaders, learn and develop professionally, network, exchange thoughts and ideas, and discuss those economic, navigation, and other issues relevant to the Project.
The Ouachita River Valley Association (ORVA), in existence now for more than 130 years, is a non-profit organization that represents the economy’s private sector and derives its revenues from membership dues and fundraising activities, such as this annual convention. I hope you will include this convention in your summer plans. I look forward to seeing you in Hot Springs.
Sincerely,
Randy Denmon
President
